Welcome back! It's going to be a fantastic year with a lot of "new" going on.

The first "new" is our new booking system - Snap. You should have received a new user email when you returned from the summer. The web address is snap.caboces.org. Your username is your email address and the password is snap. It's a lot like using Amazon with a shopping cart and all. Feel free to give it a try or give me a call and I'll walk you through it. You'll receive more info about this at the C3 day on the 25th.

Another "new" is Overdrive. This is a new feature for some of our districts that decided to opt in for this through our 510 database coser. This allows access to eBooks and audio-books.

We also have a "new" program manager at Learning Resources.. Her name is Jen Spong. She came to us from Cattaraugus Little Valley.

Remember, I'm here to help you. Just call or send me an email.
By the way, aren't those two kids in that picture just as cute as can be?? They're my grandkids : )

MARY ANN'S MEANDERINGS - I want to let all of you know that I will be retiring as of October 31st! For those of you who are new to your district, I will be available until the 31st and BOCES will move rapidly to find a new director. Ronda will always be a phone call away. Please try to make it to the C3 Meeting ( September 25th) as we will have training on Teaching Books, updates on SNAP, Overdrive and we will have a rep from Gale Resources, After lunch we will have the C3 meeting. Cece and Mary will be presenting The Research Paper on October 29 at the Olean Center. If you were not able to attend last year or would like to attend with a collaborating teacher this is a must event. If you know of a teacher who has any type of research project they can attend without a librarian if need be :( Cece and Mary have taken this training on the road and will be presenting in Long Island this Fall. I can't stress enough that this training could revitalize your program and develop GREAT research techniques to help ALL of your students whether 4 or 21.
